Job description
We are seeking an Entry Level Fleet Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn. Extensive safety training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
· Diagnosing and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
· Repairing: Perform minor repairs and more complex tasks like welding, as needed.
· Maintaining: Conduct preventive maintenance, including checking oil and coolant levels, tire air pressure, and other essential systems.
· Inspecting: Examine vehicles for mechanical defects and ensure all lights and systems are functioning properly.
· Lubricating: Lubricate equipment and refill gearboxes to ensure smooth operation.
· Recording: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work, including mileage logs and recall issues.
· Operating Equipment: Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, such as welders, cutting torches, and grinders, to complete repairs.
· Transporting: Safely transport vehicles to and from maintenance and repair sites as required.
· Communicating: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers, both orally and in writing.
· Working Conditions: Exposure to high noise levels, dust, dirt, grease, fuel, smoke, and fumes. Compliance with safety standards and the use of protective equipment is mandatory.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
· Basic knowledge of mechanical systems (automotive, electrical, hydraulic).
· Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols.
· Strong customer service and organizational skills required
· Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
· Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
· Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and web-based applications preferred

Schedule:
· Monday to Friday / 8am-5pm / 40 hours weekly
· Reliable transportation to NOVI, MI 48374 each day or plans to relocate
